Crime Syndicate 0.1.2.4a - Hitmen Difficulties Update


Hi all,

I'd like to thank everyone for playing the game, as well as reaching 775 downloads and 6,180 web plays. It means a lot!

I've been looking back at the course of these updates and noticed I haven't done a lot of work on the Hitmen Jobs system. So I decided to spend some time streamlining that process. (It was the first gameplay mechanic introduced after the Jobs System).

In short, the third tier is all about the strongest Hitmen that will incentivize the player by rewarding a Skill Point, then in the future with a chance to drop a Supply Crate.

This is the first part of the new update, so there is still more to come!


Crime Syndicate 0.1.2.4a - New Hitmen Difficulties:

Hitmen Jobs Third Tier

You can now defeat Hard and Legendary Hitmen! The XP and Money rewards have been increased to make them more worthwhile.

  • The "Special" Hitmen have been renamed to "Legendary" Hitmen, and they are further split into two groups, blue legendary tier and orange legendary tier. They are both found on Tier 3, while the orange ones are rarer and even tougher to defeat. Beating each variant of the orange tier will net you a Trophy.

Other Small Additions

  • Added mouse states to all clickable buttons on the Phone (Feedback given by Reddit user).
  • Added a background to Hitmen Jobs.
  • Updated names, titles and descriptions database, in Hitmen Jobs.

Fixes/Changes

  • Fixed an issue where the wrong name and title were being displayed after defeating a Hitmen.
  • Fixed an issue with Hitmen attack history string concatenation for the three tiers.
  • Fixed an issue where attacking any Hitmen other than the first, would light up all health-bars.
  • Fixed a bug where the shop headings were not being displayed due to a depth issue.
  • Changed the way AI attack damage is calculated when attacking the player.
  • Changed the way text is drawn in Hitmen Jobs (to incorporate resolutions).
  • Names, Titles and Descriptions all have been refactored into separate scripts ready for calling.

Optimisations

  • Improved garbage collection for cleaning up names, titles and descriptions in Hitmen Jobs.
  • Reduced file size for spr_hitman_killed_GUI, by cropping unused space around it.

The next update will debut with Elementary Weapons, which are weapons that the player has to craft, which are stronger than their base counterparts. This new update will take a bit more time than usual; I'd expect perhaps end of August.
